Privacy Policy

This policy covers fijibaat.io and the contributor/admin application at fijibaat.1818.one (together, "Fiji Baat"), operated by Nighthawk Productions Pty Ltd ("we", "us"). We aim to comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• Voice recordings you submit as a contributor, along with the phrase you were recording
• The name you enter when you join as a contributor (this can be a first name or nickname — we don't require legal names)
• Your access code and consent confirmation at the time you join
• Suggested phrases you type in, if you use the "suggest a prompt" feature
• Business/licensing inquiry details (name, email, organisation, message) if you submit the contact form on fijibaat.io
• Basic technical data (e.g. anonymised page-visit analytics) — see "Analytics" below

How we use it

Voice recordings and phrases are used to train and improve the Fiji Baat text-to-speech voice model. Approved recordings become part of that training dataset. We do not use your name or recordings for any purpose beyond building and improving this project, and any licensing of the dataset or model described on our For Business page, unless we separately ask for your permission.

Where your data is stored

Recordings and related data are stored on servers located in Australia. Training itself is performed on infrastructure we control directly — we do not send your voice recordings to third-party cloud AI services for processing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell contributor data. Aggregated, non-identifying statistics (like total recordings collected) may be displayed publicly. If the dataset is licensed to a research institution or company as described on our For Business page, this is done under a licensing agreement and does not include your name — see that page for how licensing works.

Review before use

Every recording is reviewed by an administrator before it's added to the training set. Recordings that aren't approved remain in a pending/rejected state and are not used to train the model.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Access what data we hold about your contributions
• Correct your contributor name or details
• Delete your contributor profile and raw recordings

To make a request, contact us. One note on deletion: if a specific recording of yours has already been approved and incorporated into a trained voice model, removing your raw submission won't retroactively alter a model that's already been trained on it — we'll always tell you clearly if this applies to your request.

Analytics

fijibaat.io uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand visit numbers. This does not track you individually across other sites.

Children

Fiji Baat is not directed at children. If you are under 18, please get a parent or guardian's permission before contributing a recording.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
